And here are some links to free, useful tools that we use at our office that you may find useful as well.

Adobe Acrobat Reader - used to view .pdf files.  We typically submit sprinkler system drawings, hydraulic calculations, manufacturer cut sheets, etc in the universally accepted .pdf format.  Also, many of the files in our restricted area are in .pdf format.

WinZip 11.1 - A compression utility that we use to reduce file size when transmitting over the Internet.  We know how big those CAD files can be, and we know many of you are still using narrow band, modem-type internet connections.  WinZip eases the pain of large file transfers.  The larger files in our restricted area are often "zipped" and you will need WinZip.

Efax Free - Tired of paying money for another phone line just for your fax machine?  Or tired of the hassles of using a combo line?  Do what we did - sign up for a free "efax" number.  You'll be given a fax number, free of charge, which you can then give out to others.  Fax messages are sent to the email account of your choice, and the message comes to you as a file attached to an email message.  No worrying about whether or not there is paper in the fax machine - the fax will be waiting for you the next time you check your email.  The attached file is in .efx format, which you can then view and print using their free viewer software.  The best thing is that you have an electronic version of all your incoming faxes that you can save for use later.  The kicker is that they assign you a random area code.  If you want a number with your actual area code it's gonna cost you.
